Proyectos Educativos basados en el desarrollo de competencias: Realidad o ficción

Me gustaría hacer una pequeña reflexión sobre la realidad de las prácticas educativas que se desarrollan en lo centros educativos de nuestro país. Aspiramos a un sistema educativo basado en la adquisición y desarrollo de competencias (queremos ciudadanos competentes) pero… ¿sabemos exactamente qué es eso de las competencias básicas? ¿qué implican y cuál es su significado y propósito?

Yo considero que el planteamiento teórico es bueno, como ya ha pasado muchas otras veces, pero no estoy muy seguro de que se esté traduciendo en la práctica: ¿Os acordáis de los Temas Transversales? me recuerdan bastante a lo que creo que sucede ahora con las competencias.

Por contra creo que actualmente contamos con suficientes recursos para poder implementar programas de enseñanza y de aprendizaje  en este sentido de una manera más sencilla gracias a las TIC

Disciplina

Estimdos compañeros,

Esta semana que nuestros alumnos aún deben afrontar recuperaciones es imprescindible seguir manteniendo la disciplina con los que han aprobado… Aunque tienen trabajo que preparar …deben aspirar a obtener una buena calificación en todo momento. Esto hará que nuestros alumnos marquen la diferencia en la recta final..
Si no se mantienen las ganas de trabajar, y si no nos esforzamos por optar hacia lo máximo, entramos en una dinámica aburrida, pobre, poco saludable mentalmente hablando… que podría derivar en conversaciones mediocres, típicas de las inquietudes adolescentes. Debemos evitar distracciones innecesarias que puedan alejar a nuestros alumnos de sus metas: titulación, aprobar todo en junio, pasar de curso… Lo importante es que los alumnos aprendan a comportarse y sepan que en un aula deben esforzarse por ser creativos, tener iniciativa y comprometerse por un mundo mejor…
Desde las distintas materias y disciplinas quiero animar aquí a todo el profesorado a que no pare de trabajar y de desvivirse por los alumnos porque no es un trabajo inservible.. Los adolescentes nos necesitan, necesitan nuestra atención, y recordad cuándo nosotros íbamos al instituto cuán frágiles eran nuestras personalidades, estábamos en muchas ocasiones desorientados!!

Norte y Sur

Vivimos en un mundo donde las diferencias existen, en todos los sentidos. Depende donde hayas nacido, así serán tus opciones de futuro. Eso sin contar con los paises en guerra. Es un mundo dividido: ¿los del Norte tienen un estilo de vida cómodo, lleno de facturas? ¿los del Sur tienen pobreza, infraestructuras, ríos contaminados, difícil acceso a la educación? ¿Qué pensamos cuando vemos esas imágenes de los niños de Africa, de la hambruna? ¿O las guerrillas en América del Sur? Me gustaría que algún profesor de Historia explicara aquí en el blog cómo afronta estas situaciones en el aula, y qué opinan los alumnos de todo esto.

La crisis es mundial. Eso empeora las cosas. El poder adquisitivo ha disminuido y somos cada vez más pobres… hasta que salgamos de la crisis. Las fronteras no existen y los ciudadanos de todas las nacionalidades están en todos los países. Todos nos necesitamos a todos para poder continuar ayudándonos. Hemos de aceptarnos sin prejuicios, porque aunque el intercambio cultural es brutal, es un «choque cultural» en toda regla. Costumbres distintas, lenguas distintas….. La solución es ADAPTARNOS.

La enseñanza INTERCULTURAL es una forma de evitar situaciones de violencia, o intolerancia entre alumnos inmigrantes con el resto. Además hoy en día en el mundo laboral es muy fácil llegar a trabajar con personas de diferentes nacionalidades….. A, B, C.. aleatorios los países de procedencia en función del tipo de empresa.  No es fácil, pero es muy bonito el intercambio, porque enriquece a todos, y nos amplia los horizontes.

My best teachers ever!

I remember my best teachers back in school or university or back in my professional career, and of course they were models for me to follow, and most of them believed in me, that is the reason why I do believe in all my students, no matter what reputation they may have. Here are some of my wonderful teachers…:

  • my History teacher in C.O.U. he was great because he was a man of justice
  • my Literature teacher at Complutense University, he loved getting to know us
  • my Physical Education teacher, because he reminded me of Arnold Schwarzenegger and I felt super safe in my class.. I could run and run, I was not afraid…..
  • my Semantics teacher at university, she was very systematic but human at same time
  • my boss in a Call Center company, God! he believed in me! he always supported my decisions….

Family values!

One of the most important things in life is the FAMILY. As a group of people, families take decisions together that impact the future of our society.. Parents take the control, and teach their kids how to behave and what to pursue in order to be happy in life. Our students life and future depends on how they are grown up. Not always but most of the times our students life is influenced by the context in which they live. They might want to change or improve it..  Therefore, belonging to a good family is one of the most valuable characteristics of a person. All kind of VALUES learnt in the family are the seed to success. I don’t have a clue what Ken Robinson says about this but I do think he do cares about his family and children. The future of the end of the CRISIS is the Family. Why? Because they support each other personally and financially. When l look back and forwards into my life, or my students lives…… there is one thing you cannot eliminate from your background, and that is your relationship with your family. You cannot delete it! All you need is to make it better and improve it. I wouldn’t change my family for any other family….. And I’m sure this strong feelings are one of the things that keep us doing our best in life, even when we have setbacks…. If you are a person who are having an argument with any member of your family, or if you have a student in your class who is having pain, or uncertainty caused by family problems,…. make sure you help him or her to heal this situation….. the sooner the better…. cause that person will become more assertive and more happy if he or she feels loved by his or her family. Our students need a balance! Everybody needs that!

Recycling Dragon!!!

Here is a dragon made of recycled CDs on its wings it looks like silver wings… And its head and body its made of pop-cans tied up with duct blue tape…… That´s a wonderful DRAGON……….. All teachers loved it this morning when we were visiting different schools……. It is now that I realised how important is recycling to reduce pollution. Basically «recycling» of many products or materials involves their reuse in producing different materials (e.g., paperboard) instead. I´m fascinated by the impact of this little dragon on school visitors. Honestly it turns the school into a different environment, it makes me dreaming of a different world…… I wonder where this dragon comes from…. It reminds me of Avatar because of the color but I have no idea if it was created for a videogame or what is it for…..

It depends on the area or district in Madrid that you live… if it develops more recycling campaigns or not…. There are some people in Brazil or any other parts of the world who search in the rubbish containers for useful things that people throw away, and re-sell them or use it up again…. This is the world we live in….  And we need to teach our teenagers not to throw away every single object they don´t want to use anymore… There are second-hand stores that re-sell books, CDs, vinile discs, clothes….. I know it might be annoying to waste your time taking old books or movies to these stores… especially if you are getting rid of things because you move…  My suggestion is to donate books or cds to libraries,… or clothes to other social organizations.
